Well perhaps a little too vane to call myself the guardian of the music, but I do feel honoured to be trusted with so much great music from so many musicians.
Musicians on the whole are great friendly people. And those that have the capacity to trust others with their crafted productions have the best opportunity to bring an income in from their work.
I know as a musician myself how hard this can be at times but once you are over that bridge and realise if you want to move forward, its pretty much the only bridge to take, there are great opportunities out there.
But of course as a guardian of the music I have on many occasions turned down business opportunities because I don’t think the opportunity provides the best interests for the artist and the library.
It could be east to make myself and the artists some quick bucks sometimes but some opportunities just don’t seem right so i forgo them and hope better is ahead.
Melody Pods in particular is a great opportunity for artists who have professional productions of fully owned compositions and recordings.
With no exclusive ties to any royalty collection agencies they are free to negotiate and deal directly with libraries and businesses whilst still, where they can, appoint specific collection agencies for specific royalties to collect.
It’s not always as east as that and some country’s laws where more customer orientated collection agencies are keen to do business there are more opportunities.
But whilst I remain the guardian of the Melody Pods library of music I will continue to do my best for those I license music on behalf of.

Is your boss constantly worrying about getting enough sales each month to pay your wages? I know some who are and it’s not fun for either the boss or the employee. A friend of mine recently suffered a stroke partly because of the stress of running a high street store. The pressure of getting the right customers in (those that increase the basket size rather than just come in for a few pennies… although I’m sure he was grateful for all custom) and minimising the operating costs was constantly on his mind. Special offers and packaged product offers made a difference to the ever tightening domestic budget of customers. Those calls for music licensing coming right in the middle of the day when he was at his busiest certainly didn’t help and within a week of PPL calling out of the blue my friend was in hospital.
So back to you, the busy employee hoping the boss keeps things going. Tell your boss not to worry, there’s new businesses out there eager to make their mark on the changing climate of
business and Melody Pods is one of them, offering your boss a simpler and more affordable way to get great music playing in your business today.

Its not just Melody Pods who are revolutionizing the way retailers operate their business, more applications are being developed to simplify and reduce unnecessary costs of operation. In this article at Venture Beat we see how new applications are improving epos systems and are perfectly positioned to do the same for cheaper and most likely in time, better.
Just like here at Melody Pods where we are using mobile devices to deliver music right to your store and at a lower cost to traditional licensing methods, epos and payment systems will be turned on their head in the next few years.

The more I talk to businesses the more I see that in today’s climate businesses need more time than anything else.
Sure this is controversial in a time when credit is commonly being withdrawn from businesses due to banks having less to make available and becoming more risk adverse.
But my argument stems from a couple of points; firstly those businesses that are surviving are doing so with less credit and maybe that isn’t such a bad idea because if these businesses can fund their operations more with their own resources their operating costs reduce.
Secondly, small businesses tend to have people resources at the top of their costs (even considering the actual cost of your time as a single person businesses).
So, for many businesses like Melody Pods who supply valuable services to business they need to continually look to simplify the use of their services and make their operations take less time from their customers.
Time is money as the old saying says. The less time Melody Pods asks of you to use our service is more time you have to better serve your own customers.
